Plumber Claims Virgin Mary Sighting In Drain
Restaurant Renovations Uncovered Sighting
SALINAS, Calif. -- A plumber working on restaurant renovations said he found the image of the Virgin Mary in a floor drain Wednesday.
The man was working on the drainage system for the upcoming Old Town Bar & Grill restaurant housed in the same building as the former Spados restaurant when he noticed the strange image.
The building has seen several ventures come and go in the past six years since Spados closed down and the new owner said he sees the sign as a blessing of hope for the new restaurant.
The Roman Catholic Church has very strict guidelines regarding what is deemed an official sighting of the Virgin Mary.
There has been no word on if the Diocese of Monterey will investigate the latest sighting as a legitimate apparition of the Virgin Mary.
I'm torn on this one. Sure, I'd like to eat there because of the obvious blessing I'd receive, but sheesh, the place is a pig sty. Look at that filthy floor drain!
