Image Of Jesus Seen On Tomato

Thomasville, NC -- You've heard these types of stories before when people say they see Jesus or the Virgin Mary in foods. Well, a Triad couple says they saw Jesus in a tomato.

Melinda Zunida, of Thomasville, says she and her husband, along with nearly a dozen other family and friends, see the image of the son of God in a tomato grown in her backyard.

Zunida says some other friends also claimed to see the Virgin Mary and even Jesus on the cross in the yellow blotches of the tomato.

BVM Appears then gets wiped out in Colombia

An image of the Virgin Mary appeared in baby lotion spilled in the sink by a saleswoman living in Riohacha on Colombia's Caribbean coast. But sadly for pilgrims hoping for a new holy site, the woman has washed the apparition away.

Mibis Yolanda Amaya Palmezano, who is 78 years old, says she saw the outline of the Virgin after dropping the lotion in the sink when she was holding a wake for her dead mother. Her claim has drawn a crowd of pilgrims to the house in the barrio 15 de Mayo where her house is situated.

Mibis Amaya explained to El Diario del Norte that she saw this as a message from her mother, Rafaela Beatriz Palmezano Ibarra, who died on July 6. Before dying, her mother had uttered the words "When I die, I'm coming out again."

Mibis Amaya had a dream before the Virgin's appeared, in which she saw her mother lying down on her side, in the same position as the Virgin appeared.

The dream also had a second part, which is yet to be fulfilled, in which the woman found a chest, in which her mother had left her a gift.

Mibis Amaya claims to have spoken to a woman familiar with the "supernatural", who told her to erase the image of the Virgin in order for the second part of her dream to be realised - an instruction which she promptly followed.

The sales woman declared that she would not be going to the Venezuelan town of El Mojan for the traditional "Fiera de La Chinita" festival. She usually attends these celebrations - which are dedicated to the Virgin Mary - to sell her products. She will instead remain in Riohacha, hoping to find the chest.

At Candia water park, some see Jesus in a flag

CANDIA – Liquid Planet Water Park has been waiting more than two years for a miracle.

Since Kevin Dumont and his family opened the park in 2008, Mother Nature has sent far too many rainy days.

But this year, just after opening, water park staff members saw an unexpected sight as the lifeguard flag was unfurled. In the middle of the red cross was a shadowy face that resembled images of Jesus Christ.

Since the face on the flag was revealed, the weather has been more than perfect, Dumont said. Business is up over 200 percent from last year.

Today, Father Volney "Von" DeRosia from St. Joseph's Church in Epping will be visiting the park to take a look at the image.

Tragic End for Miracle Tree

You might remember this tree that apparently had a knot that resembled the BVM. (Even better: according to the story it was a pecan tree and its owner said she received almonds from it.)

Well they sure received a sign from God this week:

Storm downs 'Virgin Mary' tree in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Stormy weather in Brownsville is blamed for toppling a tree that some believers claimed to have an image of the Virgin Mary on the bark.

Flowers, notes and other offerings were often left by the cottonwood tree, which drew attention in the past two decades for what some say was a religious image.

City crews Tuesday worked to remove the tree, in downtown Brownsville, after strong winds and rain hours earlier brought it down.

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms Tuesday led to more than an inch of rain dumped in Brownsville, Harlingen and Weslaco. Winds up to 50 miles an hour were reported in Brownsville.

Virgin Mary Spotted In Oxnard Soup Pot

An Oxnard family has found comfort on the inside of a soup pot.

Maria Froilana Esquivel had just finished cooking corn for her family and was washing the pot when she noticed the shadow she believes is an image of the Virgin Mary.

"It was shining. It was shining on the background like a light," Esquivel's daughter Maria translated. "She started sweating, she couldn't believe it."

The family has shared the pot with their friends and neighbors, who say they've noticed the image on the pot is warm, while the rest of the pot is cold.

The Esquivel family believes they've already benefited from the Virgin Mary's appearance. Maria Esquivel says her 84-year-old grandmother, who suffers from arthritis and other ailments, prayed over the pot.

"When she woke up, she woke up with no pain," Esquivel said.

The image's appearance has come just in time for the matriarch, who had been praying for her young son, a boxer, to travel safely to Puerto Rico.

Don't expect Esquivel to put this pot up for auction. Esquivel, who says her prayers are already being answered, says she is willing to give the pot away -- to another believer.
