Mary Stephens of Port Neches doesn't know why her trailer wasn't destroyed by fire Thursday. She says an image of what some believe is the Virgin Mary may have something to do with it. "The aura of her lights coming off, I just don't know." Stephens said. Stephens says after the blaze, the family returned home to retrieve some items. Among the ruins was a melted crucifix clock on the kitchen wall. When her her son removed it the image appeared.

Father Jerry McGrath of Saint Anthony's Basillica says when people see an image of the Virgin Mary it's usually a physical or psychological thing. " There have been very few extraordinary divinely expired interventions. The church is extremely prudent about the lord using phenomena to do divine things." McGarth said.

No matter what the case Stephens has no plans to remove the heavenly image from her wall. She says this experience has renewed her family's faith. The Stephens are staying in area hotels until they find an electrician to look at what needs to be fix. If you would like to help the family you can call (409) 549-8235.
